NCC Cadets Trained in Battle Craft during Combined Annual Training Camp held at Thanthai Hans RoeverCollege,Perambalur A 10-day-long combined annual training camp for the cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC),was conducted by the 2 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC, Trichy, at Thanthai Hans Roever College, Perambalur. Around 500 cadets from the sevendistricts of Trichy, Karur,Perambalur, Thanjavur, Dindugal,Theni and Maduraiparticipated in the camp, which commenced on December 21. The objective of the camp was to prepare the cadets for the upcoming certificate exams scheduled to take place in February and March 2025. The cadets received comprehensive training in battle craft, field craft, drill, weapon handling, health and hygiene, disaster management and shooting skills. The cadets were also involved in social services and disaster management activities. All cadets were given a lecture on the topic “Women Safety Measures” by Inspector S. Subulakhsmi from the All-Women Police Station, Perabalur, and were accompanied by Mr. Ram an official from the Child Welfare department of Perambaur, to create awareness among the cadets, especially the female cadets. Additionally, the cadets attended a lecture on “Employment Opportunities in the Defense Sector” organized by army officials.” The camp was conducted under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel PK Velu, the Commanding Officer of the 2 Tamil NaduBattalion NCC, Trichy. “Col Y Vijayakumar, Commander of theRockfortNCC Group,visited the camp, inspected the comprehensivetrainingprovided to the cadets, and appreciated the cadets, Associate NCC Officers, PI staff and Civil Staff for their dedication and active participation.” The college management commended the officials and cadets for conducting the camp in a highly professional manner.The college Chairman, Dr. K. Varadharajan, and the Principal, Dr. S.
