Sports Day Celebration – 2025

The Sports Day Celebration of Thanthai Hans Roever College (A) was celebrated with magnificent flourish  on 31.01.2025at 10 am in the campus. The Indian Kabaddi – Chennai Thalaivasal famous Pro- Kabbadi Player, Mr. V. Ajithkumar graced the occasion as the special guest. In his keynote address, he said, 'Despite coming from a poor background, I was able to achieve with my spirited endeavor when my first attempt was a failure. It is the repeated efforts that lead to success. Don't give up your college studies even if you are involved in sports. Later on that education alone will lead to improve your qualifications. If we want to succeed in front of everyone, we have to start our work before others do. We should always behave in such a way as to respect our teachers and trainers. Be disciplined and put your tireless efforts. You cannot reach your destination unless you avoid mobile phones’. He suggested to use  the mobile when necessary. He also advised that if one engages in sports, his mind will not involve into unnecessary habits. Finally, he appealed to the students ‘Don’t abandon your parents till the end'. Dr. K. Varadaraajen, Founder & Chairman, Roever Group of Institutions, gave the inaugural speech. In his keynote address, he emphasized to the students that physical strength is very important and  the goal will be fulfilled in education as well. He said that the skills for competing and the target for the competition needs more speed. He also added that students can get opportunity in army once indulged in sports activity and to make effort during his college days. Vice Chairman, Mr. John Ashok Varadharajan, Trustee Mrs. Mahalakshmi Varadarajan, Principal(i/c) Dr. S. Sivakumar,Director of Academics, Mr. Satheeswaran,  Dean of Arts , Dr. K. Marudathurai and Dean of Science Dr. S. Manimaran, also graced with their company. Dr. S. Sivakumar, Principal (i/c) of the college extended a cordial welcome to the assembly. The annual report was presented by Dr. J. Kannan, Head, Department of Physical Education. Initially, the three standards namely National Flag, Olympic Flag and College Flag were hoisted and honoured by the special guests, presided by the spectacular parade of students. Followed by the relay of Olympic Torch that was lit by the students of Physical Education department who won various medals in Tamilnadu State level, National level, University level and students of other departments. The Olympic pledge was taken subsequently. Thenceforth, the games were formally inaugurated by the special guest. Various athletics competitions were held for both men and women. The Valediction ceremony started at noon with the distribution of medals and certificates to the students and professors who won in various competitions. The Overall Championship for the Winners was captured by the students of Management Studies and Runners by Bio-Technology and Chemistry department students altogether. Mr. M. Parthiban, Assistant Professor of Physical Education gave the gratitude speech. Ms. G. Vishnupriya, Assistant Professor of English and Dr. P. Senthil Nathan and Dr. T. Maheshwari, Assistant Professors of Tamil hosted the events.
