The departments of Botany and Zoology have organised a one day International Seminar on “Emerging trends in biological Sciences” on 23rd September 2024. The program started with a silent prayer. Dr.G.Jeevanantham, Head in-charge and Assistant Professor of Botany, welcomed the gathering. The programme was presided over by Dr.K.Varadharaajen, Founder and Chairman of Roever Group of Institutions, presided over the gathering. Dr.S.Sivakumar, principal incharge and the Dean of Science of the college offered felicitations. In the special address Principal incharge, Dr.S.Sivakumar, talked about the basics of biology. Mrs.S.Uma, Assistant Professor of Zoology introduced the chief guest for the session-I of the seminar, Dr.A.Nagasathya, Associate professor and Head of the department of Zoology, Kalaignar Karunanidhi Government Arts College for Women (A), Pudukkottai. While addressing the students, she spoke about the Zoonotic diseases, Causative agents, the mode of transmission, and precausion measures. Dr.G.Jeevanantham, Head in-charge and Assistant Professor of Botany introduced the chief guest for the session-II of the seminar, Dr. A. Aslam, Associate Professor of Botany, Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy. While addressing the student, he spoke about the emerging research avenues in the fields of invention vs innovation, a novel product, Prototype, Process, way of organizing business, source of supply and alternatives. Dr. Bhagavathi Sundaram Sivamaruthi, Researcher, Office of Research Administration & Innovation Center for Holistic Health, Nutraceuticals and Cosmeceuticals, Faculty of Pharmacy, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand, served as the resource person through the google meet for the session III of the seminar introduced by Mrs.T.Sathiyavathi, Assistant Professor of Zoology. While he addressing the student, he spoke about Probiotics, dose of probiotic supplementation, benefits of probiotics, neuroinflammatory markers and Leaky gut markers etc., at the end of the lecture, he clarified the doubts raised by the students. The arrangements of the program were made by Dr. O. Basith, Head in-charge and Assistant Professor of Zoology. Ms.V. Suriya, Assistant Professor of Botany proposed vote of thanks. Mrs.T.Sathiyavathi, Assistant Professor of Zoology, mastered the ceremony. More than 100 students participated from various life science students of our college, including the faculty members of various departments, have also participated and benefited through this program.
