Tamil Birders Meet - 2025 organized by "Tamil Birders Network & Department of Botany & Zoology". Tamil birders network and Nature Club in the departments of Botany and Zoology are Conducted the Tamil birders meet 2025 on 4th January, 2025 at 10.00 am. The program started with a silent prayer. Tamil birders meet coordinator Dr.G.Jeevanantham, Head incharge and Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany welcoming the gathering. The programme was presided over by Dr.K.Varadharaajen, Founder and Chairman of Roever Group of Institutions, given Presidential address. Dr.S.Sivakumar, Principal incharge, Thanthai Hans Roever College, Perambalur inaugurated the function. During his inaugural address he talked about the various types of birds, their importance and protections. Dr.S.Manimaran, Dean of Science delivered welcome speech. In tamil Birder Meet various talk happened during this meet including introduction to Tamil Birders Meet & Tamil birders Network, ethical birding, Filling bird gaps in Perambalur District, Nanjarayan Tank Bird Sanctuary, 10 years of Pongal Bird Count, bird watching in Kanniyakumari, SoIB and MYNA. Several parallel sessions such as introduction to Birds and Bird Watching, Warblers, bird’s education, Waders, Gulls and Terms, eBirds, Merlin app, bird conservation, Larks and Pipits, Swallows and wagtails, Raptors were also conducted. Dr. T. Badrinarayan proposed a vote of thanks. Angelino Mano and SV Ganeshwar are initiating Birds Educators. All the arrangements of the program are made by Dr. O. Basith, Head incharge and Asst. Professor of Zoology & the faculty members of the departments. Around 250 individuals participated and benefited through this program from various colleges in all over Tamilnadu. At the end of the meet Scientist P. Jeganathan, Tamil birders network in Tamil Nadu announced Planning for the 11th Pongal Bird Count, Asian Water bird Census (AWC), Tamirabarani Water bird Count (TWC) and group photo taken.
