  • To understand the concept and importance of investment readiness in regional development.
  • To identify key factors that attract investors to regional markets.
  • To provide tools and strategies for improving business plans, governance, and compliance for investment attraction.
  • To encourage networking between local businesses, financial institutions, and policymakers.
OPENING: Workshop on Regional Investment Readiness was organized by Department of Commerce CA & CS for B.Com CA, B.Com CS & M.Com on 12th  August, 2025. The overall objective of the workshop was to understand some basic concept of Stock Market/Share Market & Financial Planning. The workshop was opened at 10:00 A.M. with a welcome statement by Dr. Sumathi Franklin, Head, Department of Commerce CA & CS. WORKSHOP DISCUSSION: Mr. M.K. Srikanth, GM, SEBI, SRO, Mr. B. Badrinarayanan and Mr B. Karthik discussed about the importance of having knowledge on wealth management. They explained the students that saving is important and one should start from early age itself. Mr Badrinarayanan also motivated the students to study about share market and to invest in the mutual funds. Some of the highlights of the presentation are as follows:
  • Concept of Financial Planning
  • Modes of Saving and Investment
  • Concept of Stock Market
  • Discussion on wealth management
  • Discussion in inflation
  • Explained how one can invest on share market and mutual funds
Participants expressed their appreciation for the program, noting that it enhanced their understanding of investor expectations and equipped them with actionable strategies for business growth. CLOSING: Ms. G. Meena, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce CA & CS thanked for organizing the workshop and also mentioned that it was an excellent session and delivered a vote of thanks to all the students and the faculties. LEARNING OUTCOME: Students have learnt about:
  • Enhanced awareness among participants about investment readiness requirements.
  • Identification of regional strengths and areas for improvement in attracting investments.
  • Networking among entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors for future collaborations.
  • Participants expressed the need for continuous capacity-building programs in this area.
