The Department of Computer Applications at Thanthai Hans Roever College successfully organized a workshop on "Data Visualization Using R Programming" by Mr. P. Ramanthan, Assistant Professor in Computer Applications on 22nd August 2024 acted as resource person. The event began with a warm welcome by Dr. V. Poongodi, Head of the Department, followed by the presidential address by Dr. K. Varadharaajen., Chairman. Dr. S. Sivakumar, Vice Principal, delivered the felicitation address, highlighting the importance of data visualization in today’s data-driven world. The workshop took place in the AVE Hall and was attended by around 190 students from the Department of Computer Applications, making it a highly engaging and educational experience. The CATCH Club of the Department of Computer Applications, recognized for its dedication to improving students' practical knowledge and technical skills, has consistently organized various initiatives, including this workshop. For the academic year 2024-25, the CATCH Club elected the following students as leaders: K. Kalyanaraman (III BCA A) as President, V. Raghul (III BCA B) as Vice President, R. Arthi (II BCA) as Treasurer and K. Babu (I MCA) as Secretary. These students were instrumental in organizing and overseeing the workshop, ensuring its seamless execution. The session began with an introduction to the fundamentals of data visualization, followed by hands-on practice with R programming. Participants were taught various techniques for visualizing data, enabling them to better understand and interpret complex datasets. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed students to gain practical experience and directly apply the concepts learned during the session. Overall, the workshop on Data Visualization Using R Programming was a great success. It provided students with valuable insights into the world of data analysis and visualization, equipping them with skills that are essential in today’s industry. The active participation and dedication of the CATCH Club members were instrumental in the event's success, and the workshop was well-received by all who attended. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Deiva Prasanth V., a student of III BCA A, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, the resource person, and the participants for making the workshop a resounding success.
