Department of Computer Science & Applications organizing a " International Seminar on Cyber Security (ISCS - 2024)." An international seminar titled "International Seminar on Cyber Security (ISCS-2024)" was organized on 19.12.2024 by the Departments of Computer Science and Computer Applications at Thanthai Hans Rover College (Autonomous) ,Perambalur. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. K. Varadarajan, the Chairman of the Rover Group of Institutions, who also delivered the presidential address. Mr. John Ashok Varadarajan, vice president of the group presided over the program. The first session was graced by the special guest, Dr. Veeramani Shanmugam, Senior Professor from the Department of Computer Engineering, Curtin University, Malaysia. He delivered a keynote speech on "The Importance of Cybersecurity." In his address, he elaborated on cybersecurity tools, their benefits, potential impacts, and the essential strategies required for ensuring online safety. Commander M. Ramanathan Kumar from Chennai participated as the special guest in the second session. He delivered a lecture on "The Importance of Cybersecurity and Its Experts." During his speech, he provided an in-depth explanation of corporate cybersecurity, its future, online threats, and methods to counteract these threats effectively. Dr. S. Sivakumar, Principal ( i/c ) of the college and Head of the Departments of Computer Science and Computer Applications delivered the felicitation address. Dr. S. Manimaran, Dean of Science also participated and graced event. Dr. Poongodi, the Head of the Department of Computer Applications, coordinated the event. The seminar witnessed active participation from students of Computer Science and Computer Applications from various colleges in Perambalur district. Additionally, students from the Computer Science department of Rover College also attended and benefited from the event. The arrangements for the seminar were organized by the faculty members of the Departments of Computer Science, Computer Technology, and Computer Applications.
