Department of Tamil, IQAC & Tamilnadu Tamil Sankam organized One Day International Conference on Internet Tamil - 2025. The Department of Tamil, along with the Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) and the Tamil Nadu Tamil Sangam, organized a one-day International Conference on “Internet Tamil” on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on 21.02.2025 (Friday) at 10:00 AM in the college AV hall. Dr. K. Varadharaajen, Chairman of Roever Group of Institutions, released the research volume titled Internet Tamil and delivered the presidential address. Mr. John Ashok Varadharaajen, Vice Chairman presided over the function, while the Principal (i/c), Dr. K. Sivakumar, delivered the introductory speech. Dr. K. Maruthadurai, Dean of Arts and Dr. S. Manimaran, Dean of Science, participated and extended their greetings. Dr. Durai Manikandan, Head of Tamil Internet Research and Professor of Tamil at Navalur Kuttapattu Government Arts and Science College, Tiruchirappalli was the keynote speaker. He delivered a special lecture on “Internet Tamil”, elaborating on the practical applications and functions of Tamil in the digital space, the language’s growth, and students’ contributions. He also introduced Tamil internet software developed by him and showcased books he authored, inspiring students and raising awareness about the development of Tamil in the digital era. The event was further honoured by the presence of Dr. R. Hemalatha, President of the Tamil Nadu Tamil Sangam, Poet Ganesan, Tamil Scholar and Advisor of the Tamil Sangam from Panruti, Tamiltheni R. Thenmozhi, Secretary of the Bengaluru Guidance Council and Dr.J. Jayavanisri, Principal of Thalavadi Government Arts College, Erode. Professor M. Thevar Selvam, head of the Tamil Department, delivered the welcome address. Dr. V. Dhanalakshmi, Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. P. Senthilnathan, Professor of Tamil, summarized the proceedings. More than 300 students, Ph.D. scholars, computer science faculty members, research scholars and professors from various colleges participated in the conference and contributed research papers.The arrangements for this conference were made by the conference coordinator, Dr. V. Dhanalakshmi, Professors of the Tamil department and Mr.Thanu Pillai, Office Manager.
