Health Club organizes a Guest Lecture on "Gender Sensitivity and Women's Health Issues". The Health Club of Thanthai Hans Roever College (Autonomous) organized a guest lecture program on "Gender Sensitivity and Women's Health Issues" on 06.01.2025 (Monday). Dr.Jannathul Basheera Consultant & Gynecologist, Crescent Clinic, Labbaikudikadu has served as a resource person. She delivered a guest lecture on gender sensitivity and women's health issues. She emphasized the need to break down societal stereotypes and stigmas surrounding women's health. Dr. Basheera also discussed various women's health issues, including reproductive health, mental health, and nutrition. She encouraged the students to become agents of change and promote gender equality in their communities. The program was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the question-and-answer session. The students appreciated the insightful lecture and expressed their gratitude to the guest speaker and the organizers. Dr.K.Varadharaajan, Founder and Chairman of Roever Group of Institution proposed the presidential address. The felicitation address was given by Dr. S. Sivakumar, who highlighted the significance of creating awareness about women's health issues and promoting gender equality. He encouraged the students to take an active role in promoting gender sensitivity and supporting women's empowerment. Dr.S.Manimaran, Dean of Science also participated. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. J. Nasrin Begam, who warmly welcomed the guest speaker, Dr. Jannathul Basheera, and the students. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms.Anto Arockiya Sagaya Rani and Ms.Sharin farhana compiled the program. The students and faculty members expressed their appreciation for the informative and engaging lecture. The program was attended by more than 300 students, who actively participated in the discussion. Overall, the guest lecture program was a huge success, and it achieved its objective of creating awareness about gender sensitivity and women's health issues among the students.
