PG and Research Department of Microbiology & Botany organize a Dr.A.P.J.Abdulkalam Memorial Lecture 2025" Emerging Research Trends and Opportunities". Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial Lecture – 2025 Perambalur, 11 December 2025 Report On Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial Lecture – 2025 Organised by the Postgraduate & Research Department of Microbiology and the Department of Botany, Thanthai Hans Rover College (Autonomous), Perambalur The Postgraduate and Research Department of Microbiology and the Department of Botany of Father Hans Rover College (Autonomous), Perambalur, jointly organised a One-Day Special Seminar on the theme “Emerging Research Trends and Opportunities” on 10 December 2025, in commemoration of the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial Lecture – 2025. The programme was held at the college’s Audio-Visual Hall and was conducted with remarkable success. The seminar commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Dr. K. Varadharajan, Secretary, Rover Educational Trust, who also delivered the Presidential Address. He highlighted the significance of interdisciplinary research in addressing contemporary scientific challenges and encouraged students to actively engage in global research initiatives. Mr. John Ashok Varadharajan, Joint Secretary, Rover Educational Trust, presided over the event. The seminar’s distinguished guest and keynote speaker was Dr. M. Subaraja, Postdoctoral Fellow, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. In his keynote address titled “Emerging Research Trends and Opportunities”, he delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture. His presentation covered:  Advances in the study of neurodegenerative and nerve-related disease  Exploration of novel bioactive medicinal compounds  Development of biopolymer-based drug delivery technologies  Innovative genetic and molecular strategies for mosquito control, focusing on preventive approaches at the gene-regulation level His lecture provided the participants with updated global research perspectives and opened new avenues for young researchers in biological sciences. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. K. Ravichandran, Principal; Dr. S. Sivakumar, Vice Principal; and Dr. S. Manimaran, Dean of Sciences, who extended their encouragement and felicitations. Dr. R. Anburaj, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Coordinator of the programme, delivered the Welcome Address. Assistant Professor Ms. A. Abinaya introduced the chief guest with a detailed academic profile. The seminar concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Assistant Professor Ms. K. Priya, who expressed gratitude to the management, invited speaker, faculty members, and students for their support and active participation. The successful conduct of the programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the faculty members and students of both the Department of Microbiology and the Department of Botany.
