"International Conference on Recent Trends in Biotechnology and Applications (ICRTBA - 2024) " organized by  PG & Research Department of Biotechnology .   PG and Research Department of Biotechnology, Thanthai Hans Rover college (Autonomous), Perambalur has organised International Conference on Recent Trends in Biotechnology and Applications on 3^rdand 4^thOctober 2024. DrA.Rajesh, convenor of the conference and Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering. The Founder and Chairman of Roever Group of Institutions, DrK.Varadharaajan and Vice chairman Mr.John Ashok Varadharajan, presided over the Conference.Dr.S.Sivakumar, Principal(i/c) and Dr.S.Manimaran, Dean of Science, offered Felicitations. The Technical session were chaired by Dr.SubhaDhamodaran, Cooordinator of DBT ProjectPSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore.and Mr S.Mathan Kumar, Asst. Professor of Biotechnology, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science, Perambalur. Dr.P.Santhanam, Professor, Department of Marine Science, Bharathidasan University spoke about treasures of Blue Biotechnology. Dr C Ravinder Singh,Chief Scientist of Research Innovation, Akash Plantation LLC, UAE, discussed the Role of Biotechnology in Human Welfare. Dr.J.Sridharan who is the Senior Manager of Products in Genotypic TechnologyBangalore,gave an introduction of Third Generation NGS sequencing platforms. Dr.Zisha Ahmed from Bamboo Research Institute of Nanjing Forestry University, China spoke on the Morphological, Cellular and Transcriptome Characterization of Bamboo leaf Pseudo Petiole. First day of the conference ended with the research findings presented by students and researchers from various colleges of our own University and other Universities. The second day of the conference, after formal proceedings opened withthe lecture of Dr.Namakkal S Rajasekaran, University of Alabama, USA spoke about the discovery of Reductive Stress: A  journey of Biomedical scientist. Dr.Mohit Bansal, Researcher in Pathology, University of Alabama, USA who discussed the role of RNA modification in Cancer Development. Dr.Muthezhilan, Registrar (i/c) and Professor of Marine Biotechnology from AMET University,Chennai, delivered his admiring Ideas on Prospects of Marine Biotechnology. Dr.S.Vimala Gandhi, Professor of Life Science from Bangalore City College, Karnataka, gave an insightful lecture on the sustainable production of Bioadsorbents from Municipal and Industrial Wastes in a Circular Bio economy context emphasizing the importance of utilising Waste Material in Sustainable Manner and the Applications in Biotechnology. Finally Dr.S.Vignesh, Associate professor of Microbiology, NIFTEM  Tanjore delivered a lecture on Microbiological requirements for the food industries andhighlighted the regulatory requirements set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India that are essential for ensuring food safety in industries. The conference ended with the Valedictory Ceremony on 04.10.2024. Valedictory address was spared by Dr.Vimala Gandhi and the conference report was presented by DrA.Rajesh, Organising Secretary of the Conference. Best Presentation Awards and Certificates were distributed to the participants. Finally the conference ended up with Vote of Thanks bid by  DrA.Baskaran, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology. The tireless efforts of the members of the organizing committee and active involvement of the participants contributed to the success of this fruitful event. About 350 participants from our college and other colleges were benefitted
