PG & Research Department of English & Literary Association organises a one day workshop on "From Books to Bytes: Literature in Gen Z Context". The Department of English organized a one-day workshop titled *"From Books to Bytes: Literature in Gen Z Context"* on December 17, 2024. The session was conducted by Ms. Sahanaz Parveen from the Department of English, Bharathidasan University, Trichy. Dr. Sivakumar, Principal (I/C), delivered the felicitation address. The workshop saw active participation from over 300 students. Ms. Sahanaz Parveen offered insightful perspectives on the evolving literary landscape shaped by Generation Z, defined as individuals born between 1994 and 2012. She highlighted Gen Z's deep engagement with technology and its influence on their interaction with literature. Drawing literary parallels, she referenced classics such as Christopher Marlowe’s *Dr. Faustus*, Margaret Atwood's *The Odyssey*, Shakespeare's *Macbeth*, and T.S. Eliot's *The Waste Land*, illustrating how timeless themes resonate differently in the digital age. In her concluding remarks, she emphasized that while Gen Z is often perceived as technology-obsessed, they are, in fact, creators and innovators. Their search for relevance drives them to reinterpret and reimagine classic works in contemporary contexts. The workshop provided a stimulating platform for students to explore the intersection of literature and digital culture.
