PG & Research Department of Microbiology Celebrating "International Microorganism Day-2025". Thanthai Hans Roever College (Autonomous)- PG and Research Department of Microbiology celebrate International Microorganism Day – 2025 The PG and Research Department of Microbiology, Thanthai Hans Roever College (Autonomous) organized International Microorganism Day – 2025 on 25.09.2025 at the Department Laboratory, within the college campus. The program was inaugurated by Dr. K. Varatharajan, Secretary, and Mr. John Ashok Varatharajan, Joint Secretary of the college. Dr. K. Ravichandran, Principal, Dr. S. Sivakumar, Vice-Principal, and Dr. S. Manimaran, Dean of Science delivered felicitation addresses. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. R. Anburaj, Head, and Department of Microbiology. On this occasion, the Principal, Vice-Principal, and Head of the Department addressed the students on the importance of microorganisms in medicine, agriculture, genetics, food production, and bio-fertilizer development. They also highlighted the contributions and achievements of eminent scientists in the field of Microbiology. As part of the celebration, various competitions such as Rangoli, Petri Art, Quiz, Science Toon, Poster Presentation, and Face Painting were conducted under the theme “Microorganisms and Their Role in the Environment.” Students of the department actively participated in all events, and prizes were distributed to the winners. The program was well-organized with the dedicated efforts of the Head of the Department, faculty members, and the enthusiastic involvement of the students.
