The Department of Hotel Management was established in 2004 and has since evolved into a job-oriented course at our institution. It has successfully graduated 17 batches of professionals, many of whom have secured positions both nationally and internationally. The department is well-equipped with advanced training facilities, including kitchens, bakery labs, and a restaurant. One of the main highlights of the course is the provision of professional training (IET) and placement opportunities for all students during their study period.
The hotel industry is recognized as one of the fastest-growing sectors worldwide, closely intertwined with tourism destinations and the needs of travelers. It plays a dominant role in management positions, catering to the needs of hoteliers, travelers, and tourism-related corporate entities, ensuring hospitality and satisfaction for visitors. India itself is a highly sought-after tourism destination, boasting a rich multicultural heritage, historical landmarks, modern cities, and diverse natural landscapes. The significant growth in India’s tourism sector has attracted numerous international hotel chains to invest in the country.
The allure of Indian cuisine, cultural traditions, historical sites, and natural wonders serves as a constant source of motivation, attracting both domestic and foreign visitors. Consequently, there are abundant opportunities available to students pursuing hotel management. The hotel management industry is continuously evolving and expanding, primarily due to its focus on food and hospitality, catering to customers from various economic backgrounds. It provides a sense of fulfillment to both hoteliers and customers alike. In recent years, it has also emerged as a platform for students to explore self-employment opportunities, leveraging the practical knowledge and training acquired during their studies.
OOur food production lab is equipped with the latest catering equipment and appliances. The spacious and well-ventilated kitchen lab aids students in mastering the essentials of food production with ease. International cuisines are featured in our food production lab, along with modern cooking techniques and safety precautions. The importance of hygiene is also emphasized during instruction.
Those sweet-smelling delicacies and tempting dishes are not a piece of cake to make! One requires certain skill sets and understanding to excel in the art of making food. At our Bakery and Confectionery Lab, we assure to inculcate the required skills to produce excellent baked products and confectionery.
Our training restaurant (F&B service lab) is equipped with all the modern amenities, which will be helpful for the students during their practical classes.
Our Mock bar is equipped to train students regarding the service of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as the preparation of cocktails and mock tails. Here, students learn the pros and cons of beverage service, along with various bar operations such as bar management, inventory management, building procedures, and the use of various garnishes.
We have set up a Front Office lab designed to resemble a hotel-style atmosphere, providing students with a realistic experience. The front office is fully equipped with all necessary sectors required for hotel operations.
The department also provides practical training in housekeeping within its magnificent and well-maintained guest rooms and practical lab. The lab is fully equipped with modern equipment and amenities. The housekeeping department takes pride in ensuring that the hotel feels like a home away from home, which is emphasized during their practical sessions.
There are many exciting job opportunities for hotel management graduates due to increasing competition in the hotel industry. Since a hotel encompasses various departments such as Operations, Front Office, Food and Beverage, Accounting, Sales and Marketing, Engineering/Maintenance, Security, etc., individuals can choose a field of their liking and pursue a career, successfully growing in it.
