The Skill Development & Placement Cell of Thanthai Hans Roever College (Autonomous) was formed in the year 2004 which brings about the synergy between the students & their mentors, who have exposure & access to the industrial avenues. On the one hand the placement cell is involved in activities like placement and frequent personal interaction with students which basically helps to understand & realize problems of the students at ground level. It helps to guide the students effectively to have a better future.
The placement cell gives priority to train the students for placement process; it involves interview techniques, aptitude and self-presentation skills. This training is imparted to all the pre-final year students.
We ensure that every student is trained according to industry standards before they appear for campus recruitment. We also ensure that every student is counselled properly in regards of choosing career options.
Maximum interview exposures are provided to the students till he/she gets placed. We are predominantly present in all industrial sectors in order to bridge the gap of industry and better professionals in today’s scenario. We believe in shaping future and making good professionals.

As there are large numbers of Arts and science and Management colleges coming up in India, the competition for employment is increasing every day and the job of placement is becoming a challenging one. A fullfledged placement cell is functioning in our college with a full time placement officer. Our Training and Placement Office is performing the following activities:

The Skill Development and placement cell activities are administered by assessing the caliber of the students and by matching with their desire and strengths. The students are given a clear picture about the Job market, job opportunities in various sectors. This activity focuses on building an effective career of the students by developing the skill sets for getting success in that particular career. The influence of personality upon the functional efficiency of a student its impact in building her career is well understood and hence the Cell organizes periodic personality development programs.
It assists the students to specifically design themselves and to cater to the demands of corporate world. Mentoring is designed to help students to achieve academic excellence by monitoring them closely and by establishing homely environment. It also includes managing stress, improving communication skills, developing confidence, exploring themselves, identification of values, resolving a personal problem interests and personal strengths needed for decision-making.
The placement officer with the placement coordinator representing each department has a regular personality development programme for I year students II year students on Career guidance and Leadership Programs and PG and III year students on Group discussion, Personal Interview, Resume preparation, Employability skills, Corporate Expectations, Personal Grooming and Etiquettes.
Training and placement cell regularly conducting sessions on Positive attitude, Self-Confidence, Inter personal skills, Team building, Aptitude test preparation, Goal setting, Public Speaking, Group discussion, Frequently asked questions in Interview, Resume preparation, Corporate Expectation, Employability skills, Mock interview, Mock Group discussion., etc. were taught by placement officer.

The Department of Skill Development and Placement Cell of Thanthai Hans Roever College, Perambalur conducted a Lifeskills Career Guidance Program titled “Two Days Barcalys Lifeskills Programme” exclusively for all 3rd Year Under Graduate Students from Bachelor of Commerce, Commerce (CA) and Business Administration on 02nd & 3rd April, 2025 at 10.00 am in the AVE Hall. Mr. Ramesh A, GTT Foundation Trainer, Trichy and Ms. Ramya, GTT Foundation Trainer, Trichy, served as the resource persons. Totally 150 students participated in this lifeskill program and gained lot of knowledge.

A Group Discussion and a personal face to face interview were conducted for 125 students from Life Science Department who participated in the drive. Finally 82 students were selected. A written test, Group Discussion were conducted for 100 students from Life Science Department who participated in the drive. Finally 75 students were selected. A Pre Placement Talk, Group Discussion and a personal face to face interview were conducted for 130 students from all the Under Graduate Department who participated in the drive.
